Volunteer – Knox Senior Program

Get involved in the Integrating Senior Newcomers project!

Would you like to meet new people in your community?

No experience required – support will be provided!

Are you interested in volunteering with pre-school aged children at Knox Church at 400 Edmonton St?

This may be for you if you’re:

  • At least 55 years old;
  • Self-identify as one of the following:
    •  Permanent resident
    •  Protected person as defined by section 95 of IRPA
    •  Convention refugee
    •  Temporary foreign worker
    •  Individual selected for permanent residency
  • Available to participate in activities with preschool children for approximately 1 hour per week from September 2019 to May 2020 on Friday mornings from 10-11 AM
  • Available on Saturdays from 4:30-6:30 (dinner included) from August 24th to Oct 24th for the orientation and training for volunteering
  • Willing to participate in the research portion of the project by meeting with a researcher and answering questions three times for approximately 1 hour each time

Participants will be recruited on a first come, first served basis, but we will have a waiting list if more individuals are interested.

In appreciation for your time, you will be compensated with a $20 gift card at the beginning and at the end of the project.
