Dr. Ashley Stewart-Tufescu is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work and a Research Scientist with the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Previous to joining the University of Manitoba, Ashley was a faculty member in Early Childhood Education at Red River College. Her current research and social work practice focus on promoting healthy child development by supporting parents and other caregivers. This work has taken her to many diverse settings, including Bangladesh, Gaza, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Mongolia, the Philippines and the West Bank. As a mother of two children, Ashley is deeply committed to promoting children's rights to protection and participation in Canada and worldwide. With great enthusiasm, Ashley joins the Board and looks forward to serving the newcomer community in Winnipeg by supporting the incredible work of Mosaic.
