Collection, Use and Sharing of Personal Information 

Mosaic – Newcomer Family Resource Network Incorporated (Mosaic) collects personal information related directly to and needed by Mosaic for the purposes of recruitment, admission, registration, progression and other activities related to its programs.  Providing personal information to Mosaic is necessary for registration into our various programs and for accessing services offered by Mosaic.  

The personal information Mosaic collects is used and stored to administer and operate learning programs and activities, childcare services, information and orientation services including family programming and intergenerational literacy programmes.  Personal information includes your name, phone number, address, email, Canadian Language Benchmark scores, Citizenship and Immigration number, and date of birth.  If you require childcare there is additional information that we require, including your health card number.  

Further, Mosaic discloses specific and limited personal information to recognized funding organizations for the purposes of administering their programs and reporting on learner activity and services accessed. Information is shared with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, and it is stored and transmitted securely in compliance with the applicable Manitoba privacy laws, The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA); for more information about why IRCC collects information please read: Government of Canada – Privacy in our Programs https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy/privacy-our-programs.html 

Mosaic collects and stores personal learning information to record language progress and achievement, issue student participation certificates, and student progress reports. Personal learning information includes: results and feedback on assignments, tests, and portfolio entries.  Information collected for the childcare programs is used to ensure the safety of the children in our program. 

Mosaic treats data with care and respect.  Though we make reasonable effort to preserve learner privacy, we cannot ensure that all personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Collection, Use and Sharing of Personal Information Statement.  We may need to disclose personal information when required by law, wherein we have a good-faith believe that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process. 

No personal client or Protected B information is entered into or processed by AI systems to make decisions about client eligibility, services, or outcomes.
